White Chocolate
While dark chocolate is a superfood packed with antioxidants, white chocolate is the least nutritious choice from the chocolate color wheel. It contains mostly dairy and loads of sugar and little chocolate. Too much sugar causes tooth decay and obesity.
Bagels
Not only are bagels high in carbs and calories, but they also have an incredibly high glycemic index. This can increase insulin and inflammation within the body, which worsens acne and increases aging.
French Fries
We know that french fries are not great for us, but how harmful are they to our health? French fries are deep fried in oils and fats which can cause heart attacks. Also, the potatoes are high on the glycemic index which is bad for our waistline. Finally, they contain a carcinogen, acrylamide, that forms when foods are fried at high temperatures.
Margarine
The supposedly healthier alternative to butter, margarine is actually not much better as it is mostly comprised of trans fat. This means it can damage blood vessel walls and elevate cholesterol levels, increasing the risk of heart disease.
Artificial Sweeteners
Because artificial sweeteners are sweeter than actual sugar, our bodies believe we are consuming real food. This then causes us to pump insulin to regulate our sugar levels, which ends up becoming stored fat.
White Bread
All of the nutrients; wheat germ, fiber, essential B vitamins; are stripped when white bread is made. When eaten, it also lowers energy levels and raises your insulin.
Lunch Meat
A humble sandwich with lunch meat can contain a ton of sodium. A three-slice turkey breast sandwich has a whopping 1,050 mg. This is about 30 to 46 percent of your daily recommended sodium intake, which is horrible for your blood pressure and heart.
